This weekend promises to be gorgeous and sunny after a long week of cold temperatures. Get the kids out of the house to visit the new play area downtown, enjoy some ice skating, go on a scavenger hunt and even do some rock climbing with Santa! There are a ton of fun events happening this weekend in and around Boulder.

The festival begins on Friday at Roosevelt Park with Santa’s Workshop, a free craft area for kids and visits with Santa, live reindeer, holiday ice show, open skating, hot cocoa carts, fire pits and food truck sales. The evening culminates in a fireworks display sponsored by WK Real Estate. On Saturday, enjoy open skate ice skating and the March of the Toys Parade down Main Street. Want to have an energetic party in the Winter? ABC Kids Climbing offers space for the birthday kid and friends to run, jump, play and climb indoors! Skilled instructors will lead children through an hour and a half of climbing, games, and activities. Children are encouraged to explore the different areas of our gym, including the top rope walls.  After climbing, the group will move into a party room for half an hour, to enjoy food, cake, and gifts. The world famous Eerie Erie is a Halloween themed 5k and 10k race that runs through historic downtown Erie and takes advantage of our beautiful trail system that weaves along Coal Creek open space areas. The 10k passes by scenic Pleasant Hill Cemetery with panoramic views and where friendly spirits can’t wait to visit this year’s runners. Eerie Erie is the primary fund raiser for the Optimist Club of Erie, a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to benefit the children of our community by funding youth specific events, programs and activities throughout the year.

Dress up in your Halloween Costume, for Longmont’s Halloween Paradeon Main Street and visit Downtown participating merchants for Trick or Treat Street immediately following the parade. Kids of all ages can be a part of this costume foot parade. No registration is required!  Strollers or wagons are recommended for tiny feet; no motorized vehicles or large animals. Dogs must be leashed. 9:30AM: Line-up in front of the St. Vrain Memorial Building.10AM: Foot Parade Start!  Come in costume! Broomfield Spooktacular

Spooktacular is guaranteed to be a treat for kids of all ages!

Check out Louisville’s Halloween race — Monster Dash! This year’s theme is ZOMBIES, so throw on your costume and get ready to run. There will be 2 distance choices, the 5k “Fun Run” is for the entire family to run together (Ages 5 and up)…strollers allowed. The 10k Race is for the bit more serious runners going for a place in their age divisions. Immediately following the 5k and 10k, there will be 3 different races for the “Little Zombies” ranging from 1/4 mile to 1 full mile. Kids receive custom kids bib, glow stick, meal, milk/drink, kids candy, finisher medal and cool finisher gift. Post-event activities include a costume contest, trick or treating for kids as well as a party where adults will receive one free beer from Avery and kids receive free juice or soda. Check out the Orchard Town Center‘s Annual Halloween Celebration! It all begins at the Town Center Square at 11am to trade your non-perishable food donation for an Orchard Trick or Treat bag with fun surprises inside (while supplies last). Hang out and play some games, win some prizes and dance to family-friendly Halloween music! Then start your trick or treat journey through The Orchard. Participating stores with candy will have a balloon bouquet at their front door. The first 200 kids will receive a free mini-pumpkin to decorate! Plus, free face painting, balloons, Halloween games and prizes, characters, photo opps and more. Bring your furry friend and enter them into the pet parade and costume contest!
