It’s that time of year! The summer beers are gone and the fall beers have been put on tap. Pumpkin is the go-to for fall flavor, and this list will not disappoint. Many of the breweries in and around Boulder are serving up a range of seasonal favorites — from Pumpkin spiced ales to Oktoberfest lagers to strong ales. Here are a handful of the best fall seasonal beers to enjoy in and around Boulder.
Avery Brewing Company – Chai High Ale
Check out Avery‘s delicious, limited release Chai High, a seasonal ale brewed with Chai spices, available through October at the Avery Tap Room or a liquor store near you (beer finder here). If Chai isn’t your flavor, Avery is pouring Fall Day IPA, an India Pale Ale spiced with fresh Colorado spruce tips to make the perfect fall pale ale, available in the tap room only.
Boulder Beer – Dragonhosen Imperial Oktoberfest
Boulder Beer‘s Dragonhosen Imperial Oktoberfest is a traditional Oktoberfest Lager that is sure to give you a buzz with a 9% alcohol by volume. This strong lager is full-bodied and malty, with a satisfying bitterness. Finkel and Garf – Rye Strong Ale
To welcome the cool fall air, Finkel and Garf is releasing a limited edition Rye Strong Ale. This ale is aged in whiskey barrels and is particularly strong, coming in at a whopping 11.3% alcohol by volume. Available in the Finkel and Garf tap room.
Four Noses Brewing Company – Pump Action
Four Noses Brewing Company‘s award-winning seasonal ale, Pump Action is packed with a bold pumpkin flavor, paired with fall spices and brown sugar. This delicious seasonal brew can be found at Four Noses’ tap room in Broomfield and at many local liquor stores.
Left Hand Brewing Company – Oktoberfest Märzen Lager
Left Hand Brewing Company‘s fall staple, Oktoberfest Märzen Lager is a crisp, medium-bodied brew, full of malty goodness. This Oktoberfest lager can be found at Left Hand’s tasting room in Longmont or at most local liquor stores (beer finder here).
Gravity Brewing – Pumpkin Spice Lager
Gravity Brewing is now pouring its seasonal Pumpkin Spice Lager, a German lager brewed with delicious pumpkin pie spices. If you aren’t in the mood for a spiced pumpkin beer, Gravity is also featuring its dark fall seasonal, Desertas, a chocolate raspberry Baltic porter. Twelve Degree Brewing – Foxx Rougge
Twelve Degree Brewing has its Foxx Rougge back on tap, a dark strong ale with notes of caramel, fig, raisin and plum. This deep amber ale is bold and complex, and strong coming in at 8.5% alcohol by volume. Twelve Degree brews can be enjoyed at the tap room in Louisville.
Upslope Brewing Company – Pumpkin Ale
Upslope Brewing is giving the people what they want with this classic, limited release Pumpkin Ale, brewed with organic baby bear pumpkins and a custom blend of spices for that perfect fall flavor. Pumpkin not your thing? Try Upslope’s Blood Orange Saison, a limited release bright and citrusy brew with a natural sweetness and dry finish.
